Okay, now you all get to find out what I did over the summer!

Let's see: I did pretty much nothing for a week and a half after school got out, then I went to nerd camp for three weeks. It was AMAZING! I met so many awesome people, and it was nice to be away from home for a while. I took a course on International Relations that was really interesting, too.

Anyway, camp was awesome, but getting back to Austin was awful. I got up at four in the morning to get to the Greensboro (North Carolina) airport. My flight to Atlanta left at 7:15, and everything went really well until I got there. My plane landed around 8:30 and my flight to Austin was supposed to leave at 11:15, so it was already a long layover. I got through that all right, but then they delayed the departure for half an hour because they had to get an airplane out of the "old hangar". When it got there, all the passengers got on, and we started on our way to the runway. After a while, I realized that we were just going around in circles. A few minutes later, they announced that there was a problem with the airplane's engine, so we were all just going to have to get off again! When I got back inside the airport, there was a thunderstorm. By the time that had cleared up and they'd gotten another plane, it was 1:30. Now that I read all that, it doesn't seem that bad, but I was alone, exhausted, and bored. It was torture.
Anyway, when I finally got back to Austin, I was exhausted--I'd only gotten three hours of sleep the night before!. When my mom picked she up, she informed me that I had to go see my grandparents and aunt. That would've been all right, but I also had to go to my friend's birthday party afterwards. Which meant that I had to go buy her a present, too. She also told me that we were leaving AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE THE NEXT MORNING for the beach.
I was at my friend's house until about 10:30, so you can probably guess how I felt the next morning. Then I had to endure two days of driving with my little brothers. They never shut up. It was fun once we got to the beach, though. We were somewhere on the Alabama coast (yes, it does have some coastline. Just not very much) and I picked up more seashells than I know what to do with.

Ummm... After that, I went to a creative writing camp. Then: SUMMER BAND. That was fun... 8 in the morning to 5 in the evening every day, out in the hot sun, being yelled at by my section leaders every five seconds... I'm actually only being a little bit sarcastic. It WAS really fun.

Then school started. That's pretty much it.

Ok, so I put a new picture up. It's probably not going to change for a while (if ever) because decent pictures of me just don't seem to exist.
I'm really not sure what to write about, so I'm just going to write about whatever crosses my mind.

I used to really love reading, and I'm pretty sure I still do, but I haven't been reading much lately. There just doesn't seem to be anything interesting around. A lot of people (mainly girls) my age are really into the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. Actually, "really into" is an enormous understatement. They're completely obsessed. I used to really like the series, but now I can't stand it. I read the first book a little more than a year ago and loved it. This was before a lot of people had even heard of it. I read the second and third books and loved them even more. After that, there was a long break before the fourth book was released. During that time, I thought about the series some and realized how stupid it really was. I could go into that in more detail, but I don't feel like it right now. Maybe another time...
I really enjoy writing, and my friends say I'm pretty good at it (I don't agree, but that's not the point). My main problem is that I never really have any good ideas for stories. Everything I think of always seems really cliché, so I refuse to write it. That's another thing: I really, really hate overused story ideas. Sometimes, they're all right if they're presented in such a way that it's not obvious what they are, but most people can't pull that off.
That's all I really have to say right now. Oh, wait: if anyone has an idea for a story, tell me about it! I really feel like writing something right now, but I don't know what t
o write about.

Me

Hi! My name is Elizabeth McLean and I have just started 9th grade at Anderson High School in Austin, Texas. I'll be 14 years old tomorrow, which means that for a very short time, I'll be the same age as most of my friends! Then they'll all start turning 15 and I'll feel out of place again. Actually, a couple of them are already 15, so they'll be turning 16.

I have two younger brothers named Christopher and Michael that are both rather tall for their age. Christopher just started 5th grade and Michael just started 3rd. They're both very smart, although Michael sometimes has trouble in school because he gets frustrated easily and doesn't always pay attention in class. Both of them are really into sports, too. I can't relate to that at all, but I guess it's normal for boys. Here's a picture of them (hopefully. I'm not so great with computers.):

I'll post a picture of myself as soon as I find one that I like. That's probably going to take a while, so I'll give you a short physical description of myself: I have brown hair, brown eyes, and braces. I'm 5'7 (according to some website, that's about 170 cm) or a little shorter. I don't really feel like going into more detail right now.

Hey, would you look at that? It's past midnight and I'm still typing. Know what that means? Right! I'm officially 14! Actually, I guess I'm not really 14 until about 7:30 in the morning. Oh well.

I guess that's it for now. I would have written more, but I got distracted for a while and now it's late and I want to go to bed. I'll try to post some more tomorrow!

Correction: I know this says I posted it on September 6th at 9:33 PM, but it was past midnight here. I guess it was 12:33 AM. Or 00:33. Or is it 24:33?

Update: Ok, so I posted a picture, but it's kind of old (I don't have the glasses anymore) and the colors are all weird. I'll get a better one up later.
